July CLP Meeting

July's CLP meeting was held in a packed Worthing Labour Hall.

Worthing West Labour has seen its membership quadruple since the General Election only 15 months ago and there has been a further surge over the last month bringing membership to almost 700.

The upsurge in support for the party in Worthing was reflected in more than 70 members packing the Labour Hall in Lyndhurst Road for the regular monthly meeting of the party this Wednesday.

The current differences over party leadership were debated at length in a friendly atmosphere. There was overwhelming support for a motion supporting the continued leadership of Jeremy Corbyn.

Corbyn is a walking disaster. Like Michael Foot in 80s. His election gave Thatcher a free hand. The split then is about to be repeated. Like in 80s when local parties were dominated by CND members the same thing is about to happen. Try telling the 70 000 voters on doorstep that we are opposed to the deterrent. Sadly they turn against you. Meanwhile the NHS, railways etc get ripped apart. Get in to power sort these things out then turn attention to Trident.
