Worthing West activists hit the streets of Brighton to campaign for that all important win.
Activists from Worthing West joined neighbouring CLP’s to brave the cold and a threat of snow to campaign across the City of Brighton and Hove this weekend. With less than 100 days to go until the General Election on the 7th of May, Peter Kyle, Purna Sen and Nancy Platts need our help to win across Brighton and Hove. Hove and Portslade, Brighton Pavilion and Brighton Kempton and Peacehaven are three of Labour’s top 106 marginal seats to win, so there is plenty to do across the city from door stepping and leaflet drops to phone bank sessions to make those vital contacts.
Peter Kyle in Hove and Portslade told us why our help was important –
“In a race as tight as Hove and Portslade every person who gives up some of their time to help is the person who wins the seat back for Labour. We campaign seven days a week and there’s always a role for everyone’s talents. Many residents here are depending on our victory to in order to restore fairness to the way our communities are managed, and you’ll be welcomed with open arms by the team that’s working hard to make that happen."

Purna Sen in Brighton Pavilion has an interesting seat on her hands –
“Brighton Pavilion is a unique political contest. It also has one of the smallest majorities in the South East – just over 1200 votes. Support and solidarity from comrades in neighbouring CLPs is really appreciated and can help us win back this seat and contribute to getting us back into government. Every vote here counts, so every conversation on the doorstep or on the phone can make a difference.
Please feel welcome to join us, we work hard and we have fun!
Do drop me an email if you want to go on our supporters mailing list!”

While Nancy Platts in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven has a big spender to outdo –
“In Brighton Kemptown we’re fighting a very well-funded Conservative incumbent who is attempting to spend his way to re-election. That means that our secret weapons are Labour activists and volunteers who can help us with deliveries and door-knocking. Even if you can only spare an hour or two, I’d love to see you.
Don’t forget. If Labour doesn’t win Brighton Kemptown then it’s highly unlikely that Labour will be able to form a government and with a gap of only about 1300 votes between us and the Tories every vote really does count.
All our activities can be found on my website at http://www.nancyplatts.org.uk/events or you can contact the office on 01273 690 274 - I value every contribution that is made to the campaign and welcome everyone who can get involved.
Please join me and help make sure we deliver a Labour government in May.”
