Councillor Jon Roser
Councillor for Selden Ward, Worthing Borough Council
on has lived in Worthing since 2006 , moving to East Worthing six years ago, where he lives in the heart of Selden. He has thirty years experience in the retail sector and works in the centre of Worthing, giving him a keen insight into the changing nature of the town, its residents and visitors.
An actIve member of the local Labour Party, Jon takes part in campaigns across the constituency and beyond. Having supported Councillors Mike Barrett and Carl Walker in their election campaigns he has got to know Selden well, gaining an understanding of the variety of needs and issues faced by the community.
He says: “Selden is a large and vibrant community in its own right as well as being a gateway to Worthing. With the right support and encouragement, including creating opportunities for new businesses, assets such as the seafront and local shopping hubs like Ham Road can enhance and build on that existing vibrancy and sense of community.”
His experience of teaching mindfulness has given him the ability to listen and understand the needs of others. Having grown up imbued with a strong sense of social justice, Jon is keen to use the opportunity of being a councillor to work with others and create a thriving, vibrant and fairer Worthing.
